// Kinetica: Creative Media Showcase

Project Overview

The creative media showcase is an annual event hosted at Murdoch University, with the purpose of showcasing the work created by the Creative Media students. There were nine disciplines in which we showcased student work from this year; Screen, Sound, Photography, Theatre & Drama, Graphic Design, Journalism, Creative Writing and Games Art & Design. The exhibition was a collaborative effort between the team leader, Erica Mason, and the students in the Service Design unit in which it is the focus of the unit to create this event. Every year there is a different theme for the exhibition, this year the theme we chose was Kinetica; a dynamic theme that represents the movement and energy of the students coming together creating an evolving body of work throughout the year.

The Teams

The Teams

The Kinetica team, led by Erica - was made up of four smaller teams in which tasks were designated through based on the specialty of each team. For this showcase there was a branding team, publication team, spatial team and a digital team.

The publication team consisted of Meagan Glazebrook, Zarah Blight and Jessica Appleton. They worked on the publication that was handed out during the exhibition, this included the layout design and various visual elements incorporated into it.

The branding team consisted of Jayden Tierney, Sophia Charteris, Chloe James and Caitlyn Miller. The branding team worked on creating the brand identity for the showcase, ensuring cohesiveness across the board when it came to promoting and creating content for Kinetica.

The spatial & wayfinding team consisted of Jacinta Brindley, Sasha Lewin, Abbey Collier, Jemma Cook, Nicole Herceg and Trinity Lloyd. The spatial team worked on the experience of the attendees of Kinetica, this included the logistics of the movement at the showcase including the signage, interactive elements and overall look of the exhibition.

The digital & social media team consisted of James Bylund, Treyden Tallent, Chloe Scorer and I. We worked on the various digital touchpoints for the showcase, including the website, social media pages and their content as well as other forms of digital content found within the showcase.

Our team was in charge of creating the digital touchpoints to be used throughout the promotion and within the show. Chloe was the main person on the website, with assistance on coding and wireframes from myself and Trey. With other digital touchpoints such as animations and slideshows I was tasked with creating these as well as assisting with social media posting and video editing.
